Creery Wetlands

Creery Wetlands is a vital natural habitat under pressure from development. This article celebrates the conservation work of Len Howard and outlines the wetland’s ecological and cultural importance, especially for migratory birds and native species under threat.

🌿 Discover the Creery Wetland Reserve 🌿

A vital part of our local ecosystem, Creery Wetlands is home to a rich diversity of wildlife, acts as a natural water filter, and offers a peaceful retreat for nature lovers.

We’re excited to launch the Creery Wetland Project, which includes:

Rehabilitation and planting starting in 2026

Formation of the Friends of Creery Wetland (FOCW) group to help nurture and protect the reserve into the future

A core group is already working to establish FOCW, with upcoming activities including:

An info stall at Wonders Of the Wetlands (11 October)

A public meeting in January 2026

Our first planting event planned for June 2026

We’re proud to have support from Rhys Williams (MLA), Daniel Wilkins (CoM councillor), and are collaborating with DBCA, cultural elders, and local environmental groups.
