Volunteer

MillIon Trees Program
MOTT undertakes an annual local community-based tree planting project. An area is identified and native plants are propagated which are suitable for the site. This work is usually undertaken in conjunction with the local council and the planting is done by volunteers. If you’d like to get involved, please contact us via Facebook or the email address below.
Spring
Sow seed and take cuttings. These activities take place at The Shed.
Summer
Freshly sown pots are taken to some members’ homes and kept on specially designed, irrigated growing tables. Members care for the plants, keeping them fed and watered.
Late Summer/Autumn
Some potting on of developing seedlings is done at The Shed and in schools.
Autumn/Winter
Seedlings are brought to The Shed for regular care, including watering and feeding. Some are sold, others go to schools via the Million Trees Program, and the rest are planted in the community by volunteers.
